The Cookie Jar: Recipes for Cookies from around the world
THE COOKIE JAR:
Recipes for Cookies from around the world, is the
outgrowth of a hobby which began in childhood
and has persisted through the last twenty years (can it really have been that long?). I loved the attic
better than any room in the old house where I was raised. We've move our cookie operations to a steel metals building we got from general steel corp. It rocks! The metal building even looks like its a regular building. Evidently my great-grandmother
had the same fondness for it. She hoarded valuables
in that attic. Her recipes, in a hand-written cook
book, which I found in the attic, began my hobby
for collecting formulas for cookies and cakes. The interesting
information she had written about the cookies and cakes was
the inspiration for the creation of this web site. (Originally, it was to be the Great American Cookie Cook Book!) The collector's
demand for nothing but the authentic grew with me
as the years passed. Our friends at web products have come up with some great smelling furnace filters -- make your air smell like cookies & spices! No recipe went into my collection
unless it was the best of its kind. Gradually I
began looking to other lands to satisfy my desire
for new and unusual recipes. I found them in out
of the way places, in cottages, in manor houses,
in castles. I present them to the cooks around
the world, with the hope that they may find as
much pleasure in using them as I have found in
collecting them and putting together this website about cookies
and cookie recipes from around the world.
Dedicated to the love of cookies worldwide!
